Winemakers notes:
This wine opens with rich aromas of black currant, blueberry, black cherry liqueur, mocha, toasted bread, and violets. Rich and complex on the palate, with concentrated black fruits, toasted French oak notes of mocha and baking spices, and floral elements, making for a beautiful Cabernet-driven profile to age 5-8 years.
78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 8% CF
Wine Advocate June 2017 Review: 92 points
A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 Columbia Valley Red Wine sports a deep purple/ruby color to go with terrific notes of black raspberries, plum, cassis and leafy herbs. There's a touch of graphite and oak, but it's beautifully integrated and layered, with full-bodied richness and thrilling purity of fruit. It’s one straight up delicious second wine that's going to keep for 10-15 years.
Wine Spectator October 2017: 92 points
Combines polish and intensity with structure and blackberry, lead pencil and spiced licorice flavors. Refined tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Best after 2018. T.F.
