Passing Time Winery

2020 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Boysenberry, dark plum, black and red currants, mountain flowers, baking spices, licorice. The palate is classic Red Mountain, with red and black fruits, powdered chocolate, dried herbs, and a hint of eucalyptus wrapped around a structured core. This wine is tasting great now, but it’s built for the long haul. Drink 2025-2040.

94-96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck

"Lots of red, blue and black fruits as well as dried flowers, new leather, and some chalky mineral-like nuances emerge from the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain, a full-bodied, pure, beautifully balanced Cabernet from Red Mountain. I love its purity as well as its elegance, and it's a pretty expression of Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that has tons of character."

96 Points - Owen Bargreen

"Very intense, the 2020 Passing Time ‘Red Mountain’ Cabernet Sauvignon comes form mostly the Klipsun Vineyard (64% as well as the Red Mountain and Heart of the Hill Vineyards. Black cherry cordial aromas alongside Arabica bean, cassis liquor and suggestions of creme de violette all combine on the nose. The palate is seriously good, showing fantastic underlying freshness and impeccable balance. This effortlessly glides across the mid-palate, delivering hedonistic dark fruit flavors with coffee grounds and shades of tar. Already beautifully evolved, enjoy now and over then ext fifteen to twenty years. Only 250 cases made. Drink 2022-2038"

96 Points - International Wine Report

"About ⅔ of the fruit on this gorgeous Red Mountain cabernet comes from the famed Klipsun Vineyard, with the rest from Red Mountain and Kiona Heart of the Hill. It’s aged in about 90% new French oak and has a nose that literally won’t stop - it’s focused, powerful in a restrained way, and absolutely scintillating. Lovely Red Mountain aromas and flavors of blackberry fruit leather, mountain huckleberry, dried wild sagebrush, dried purple flowers, baking chocolate, and cedar are wonderfully combined. A broad and expansive palate combines with perfect levels of acidity, rounded sweet tannin, and a lengthy mineral and peppery finish. Enjoy this for the next 15 years with proper cellaring. Highly recommended."

96 Points - Paul Gregutt

"What's most impressive about this pure Red Mountain Cabernet is the tannin management. These sites (Klipsun, Red Mountain Vineyard, Heart of the Hill) are known for aggressively tannic wines. It's a calling card – a marker – for the AVA's red grapes. Here the tannins been tamed just enough to keep the wine in balance and showcasing the heady mix of dark flavors (cassis, black cherry, licorice, a whiff of smoke and more). This is the one to put down for long term aging, but you may find it quite delicious already."

95 Points - Northwest Wine Report (Sean Sullivan)

"100% varietal, this is 60% Klipsun, 30% Red Mountain, and 10% Kiona Heart of the Hill fruit. The aromas are dazzling, with notes of crushed rock, cassis, black cherry, and coffee. Full-bodied, seamless cherry, coffee, and chocolate flavors follow, showing exceptional balance and length. There’s a whole lot of structure behind it all. It’s a wine that flat out impresses. Best from 2028 to 2037."
